The Association annually monitors in the growing season June through October) phytoplankton in both Bear Creek Reservoir and Evergreen lake. Limited zooplankton data has been collected in Bear Creek Reservoir. Phytoplankton assemblages are used as a water quality indictor and can help determine the trophic state of a waterbody.
